Online Courses and Workshops

These online workshops, masterclasses and courses are now open for booking:
A nine week devotional study of the Goddess Hekate with Sorita D'Este and Emily Carding

The Torchlit Path is a 9-week program created by Sorita d'Este and Emily Carding as a pathway towards a deeper, mystical and devotional relationship with the Goddess of the Crossroads, the Triple-Goddess Hekate.

During our time together you will be able to learn more about the history of the Goddess, her primary symbols, epithets and sacred stories - as well as techniques to help you creatively connect with Hekate, enabling you to further your own understanding through practice.

Each week participants will receive recordings to listen to in their own time on the subjects and practices for that week. We will then have a weekly Zoom meeting during which all of us will discuss the topics of the week, our experiences and insights. Questions will sometimes challenge our existing ideas and practices, and encourage us all to be more creative with how we explore the Hekate, while remaining rooted in Her history.

[Zoom meetings will be recorded for participants who are unable to participate in the live sessions, but please note that breakout groups in which a lot of the work and discussion takes places, will not be recorded].

You will be guided towards setting up a shrine, doing daily (or regular) devotion, furthering your knowledge of Hekate's history and mythologies; and deepening your understanding of Her mysteries through experiential learning.

Topics we will explore together on this path include: Images of the Goddess Hekate, Shrines and Devotion, Offerings, Gnosis (and why it is always personal!), Names and Epithets (and what to do with them), Hymns and Invocations (including writing your own), Hekate in the Mysteries of Eleusis (and other stories), Initiation, Priesthood and personal Dedication to the Goddess of the Crossroads.

[Please note: We have made small changes to this second cohort of the Torchlit Path which we believe will make it better suited to participants who want to develop a devotional and mystical practice.].

What you need:

You are welcome to join from wherever you are - you will need access to a device suitable for playing video and sound recordings, and which you can use to join the zoom meetings. You will also need 2 to 3 hours per week to work through the materials and do the exercises provided each week - in all instances you will be encouraged to root your practices in history and to be creative!

Booking a Place:

Places are limited. The first journey on The Torchlit Path will commence on Monday 16th of October and run for 9 weeks, ending in December.

Places cost £120 or £85 (concessionary) for the whole course - and you will have access to all the course materials for one year. If you are unable to afford the concession price, please email admin@theurgia.co.uk telling us why you want to do the course - we have a small number of "by donation" places available.

Note about Zoom Sessions:

These are optional, but recommended. The sessions will be recorded, but you will naturally miss out on the interactions with others, including Emily and Sorita. Recordings will be made available within 48 hours. Note that the Zoom sessions run from 9:30pm - 11:00pm UK time. [Keep in mind that we are currently in British Summer Time and that the clocks change at the end of October, which might mean a difference depending on where in the world you are.)
